I have started doing something on TikTok, where my name is Musehicktok, where I ask people for requests of what they would like me to write a poem about. I relish the challenge, and I love the chance to get know those I write for a little bit better. I do try to think about who I am writing for. If I know a little of them it is easier.
Poetry is relevant and it should be remembered and experienced in that way. It is not designed to be kept in dusty books … it is meant instead to be a living, breathing part of life, and I hope that is something which I instill into everything I write.
