I have been writing more writing than writing about writing, so some things stopped being done for a while. I am watching a lot of documentaries and it kind of gets you into the headspace where you pull back from what you are doing and think about it.
Why bother with all that kind of guff?
Because, although half the time you want to be arting without thinking about the artiness of arting, sometimes you need to understand the engine of your creativity in order to move it forward or to break it.
You have to break it sometimes. You can’t trundle along doing the same damned thing all the time or you will bore yourself and everyone else to tears. Never bore people. Never bore yourself.
