I like to stick with saying something as if it were definitive until it gets proven that it is not. I am always willing to be proven wrong, and I will adapt as necessary, but not having a solid viewpoint makes you come across as wishy-washy.
Wishy-washy is a sin. Vacillating is not driving forward. You are not going to write anything if you buy into any kind of system that has a slackly outlined form … better to have no system at all.
What is the proof of any notion that is supposed to drive your work forward? Well, does it drive your work forward? If it doesn’t it doesn’t work.
