with a precision that buckles the world
punches a hole through the floor
and drops it all into the basement
where it flows and ebbs between spiders and webs
and grows its legs to travel with you into tomorrow
burrowing in under your skin to eat your sorrow
the light is a switch
from head to heart to lips
and the blown circuit trips
and down the edifice slips
until the shadow steps into the light
and drops the husk to recall how bright
the person is capable of being
all from listening and seeing
and understanding what the answers are
